For several years, Illya D'Addezio (of Genealogy Today LLC) has been collecting rare and out-of-print books and documents. The smaller documents are being digitized and transcribed as part of the Family Tree Connection project. Many of the larger books are now being made available on Live Roots through the "Ask a Live Person" program.
This collection includes hundreds of different printed publications, including city directories, biographical series, alumni publications, and many other types of works. Whenever these items include a printed index, we will transcribe the names and load them into the Live Roots index.
In addition to the printed materials, this collection will include original, one-of-a-kind handwritten ledgers. These ledgers include funeral home registers, civil court dockets, Masonic lodge records, church ledgers, mortgage/deed books, prison intake logs, company payroll ledgers, military rosters, tax assessments, fire department call books, plus many other interesting items.
This is the first time most of these unique items have ever been made available to genealogists. Where possible, we will transcribe the names contained in each ledger and load them into the Live Roots index.
Browse the items currently available from this collection. Additional resources will be added as they are indexed.
